The page follows
the narration.
Troika links your own ebook and audiobook word for word, on your device, with no server and no credits. Turn to any page and press play; listen in the car and open the book later on the page you reached, with the last sentence you heard.
For iPhone and iPad, iOS 26 or later. Works with your own EPUB and audiobook files.

One book, both ways
Not an estimate from percentages, and not a quick transcription each time you switch. The whole audiobook is matched to the text once, so the two sides always agree to the word.
Play from any page
Turn to where you are and press play. The narration starts at the first sentence on that page, never mid-sentence.
Follow along
While you listen, the page turns itself and the spoken word is highlighted.
Pick up anywhere
Stop listening, open the book an hour later, and it is on the right page with the last sentence you heard. Read a chapter, and the audio knows.
Skip by sentence
Set the skip buttons to move by narrated sentence or paragraph instead of fifteen seconds.
Find in the narration
Search the audiobook for a phrase you remember hearing and play from there. Select a passage in the reader and save it with the narrator's reading, to share as text and sound.
Where they differ
A map of where the narration skips text or the audio has extra material, and a list of the book's names with the narrator's pronunciation.
A full e-reader
Pages or scrolling, light, sepia and dark, fonts and spacing, contents, search, bookmarks and highlights.
A proper audiobook player
Chapters, speed, sleep timer, AirPlay, background playback, and controls on the lock screen and in the car.
Your library, your way
Shelves, read and unread status, cover sizes, and statistics for what you have read and listened to.
How it works
Linking happens once per book, on your device.
Add your files
An EPUB and its audiobook (M4B, M4A or MP3) from Files, iCloud Drive or a network drive. They are copied into the app.
Troika listens, once
The audiobook is transcribed with Apple's on-device speech recognition and every spoken word is matched to the text. Nothing is uploaded.
Read, listen, or both
From then on the book has one position. Switch whenever you like, as often as you like.
A closer look

Private by design
No account, no tracking, no ads. Your books, your transcripts and your reading history stay on your iPhone or iPad. Troika is coming to the App Store; this page will carry the link.
Questions
Which files work?
EPUB ebooks, and M4B, M4A or MP3 audiobooks, without copy protection. Books bought from stores that use DRM, such as Audible or Kindle, cannot be opened.
How long does linking take?
A few minutes per hour of audio on a recent iPhone. It continues in the background, and finishes while the phone charges if it gets interrupted. Reading and listening work separately in the meantime.
What does the match percentage mean?
The share of the text that was found in the narration. Front matter, notes, verse and appendices that are not read aloud lower it without affecting the story, and the book's page shows the match chapter by chapter.
Does it work with a different edition of the audiobook?
Usually, yes. Linking matches words, not positions, so it copes with introductions, missing sections and small edition differences. An abridged audiobook links where the text agrees.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. Transcription uses Apple's speech recognition on the device itself. There is no account and nothing to sign in to.
